The immediate former Director General of the Nigerian Intelligence Agency Ahmed Abubakar Rufai has said he resigned from his position because of some undisclosed family issues.
He said it’s nothing serious in an interview he granted TVC shortly after dropping his resignation letter on Saturday.
He said he has spent 7 years on the job noting that he has mentored and trained a good number of officers who can take the job further.
“There are quite number of reasons why I did that some personal family issues. But nothing serious actually.
“I discussed with Mr. President, he understood very well.
“I’m very very grateful for the opportunity that the president gave me to serve the country and the leadership and it’s leadership
“The encouragement I got, the confidence he had in me and my service, the opportunity to listen to me, to read our briefings and advices. I think this is everything for me. I’ve had opportunity to mentor offices and staffs for all the period I’ve been the DG.” Abubakar said.
