Former Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ahmed Abubakar, has officially handed over to the newly appointed DG, Ambassador Muhammed Muhammed today.
The event held in Abuja saw Abubakar, who resigned last week after six years, passed the leadership of the Agency to Muhammed whom he declared as the sixth NIA DG.
“It’s an honour and privilege today to welcome the incoming 6th Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Muhammed Muhammed.” Abubakar said.
In the wake of his resignation, Abubakar had stated family reasons for the cause of his decision.
In response, Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, yesterday, announced his replacement with the appointment of Muhammed Muhammed as the NIA boss alongside Tosin Ajayi who also replaced Yusuf Bichi as the new Director General of the Department of State Services.
