Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, has threatened to put fire in the states of governors backing Fubara.
He made this disclosure while addressing the delegates of Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP), Rivers state chapter at their congress held in Port Harcourt yesterday.
In response to PDP’s governors from other state who drummed support for Rivers state governor, Siminalyi Fubara, Wike warned them against interfering in the affairs of Rivers while threatening to throw their states into political crisis if they fail to back off.
“Not While we live will anybody take away the structure of PDP from us. Not While we live! I hear that there are some governors who say they will take away the structure and give it to somebody.
“I pity those governors because I will put fire in their states. When God has given you peace, you say you don’t want peace. Then whatever you see you take.
“I don’t understand. Simply because I hear that they got some money from the Senator bonus and so their heads are getting big that you will put hand in my own state.
“Prepare because I have the capacity to also do the same thing in your own state, whether you are from Bauchi, I don’t give a damn.
“As far as I know that you are trying to put yourself in Rivers state, your hand will get burnt and your will never sleep in your state. You will not do governance again when you see political crisis as far as PDP is concerned.
So I have told them, now that you have started, when I will start, don’t say I am the one that destroy PDP. You are the one that is trying to destroy PDP. Allow Rivers state to conduct the affairs of the party.” He said.
Wike further claimed to be aware of Fubara’s intention to defect to the Action People’s Party (APP), labelling him as ‘unstable characters’
“We are aware of these unstable characters. We know that they are joining APP. Let them wait during the time they should face us in election. Don’t bother about abuses.
“We have thick skin. We don’t know what abuse is. They thought we have come to them to beg. Let them go and see what is happening in Abuja. If we talking about politics in Nigeria, we are more than relevant than them.
“If today I say I will move to another party, it will be a tsunami. But we have said we will remain where we are.” He added.
