The Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has reiterated her stance on Nigerians avoiding immigration to Libya.
She made the call via her X post on Tuesday, following a viral video of Nigerian women that have been reportedly arrested in Libya.
Recall that NPO reported that the women called on the government to come to their aid.
Responding to this, Abike stated that she had led a team to the Libyan prison to rescue over 10,000 Nigerians, yet after serval warnings, they still return.
“I was part of a team that went inside Libyan Prison to rescue over 10,000 Nigerians in Libya, with a warning that they should desist . But they still return.
“Not even sure this is a new video because 140 were rescued again a few weeks ago by @IOM_Nigeria.”
She therefore revealed that the evacuation agency will look into it.
“The multi agency task force on evacuations will look into it . But Libya is to be avoided by irregular migrants. We warned severally.”
