Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Board of Trustees has accused the All Progressive Congress (APC) of alleged plot to impose One-Party system and totalitarianism in Nigeria.
The BoT made the accusation during their 78th meeting held on Thursday.
As contained in the communique read by its chairman, Adolphus Wabara, BoT accused the APC of manipulating Edo State governorship election in their alleged plot to foist a One-Party system and totalitarian rule on Nigeria.
The Board vowed to challenge the governorship election results as they claimed PDP’s candidate, Asue Ighodalo, won.
Meanwhile, the PDP Board urges Nigerians to resist any plan by the APC to rig the November 16, 2024 Governorship election in Ondo State, stressing that they are in good position to win the election.
In the same vein, the BoT expressed concern over the state of affairs of the Party in Rivers State, urging that efforts must be intensified to find lasting solution to the issues.
They called on the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) to urgently summon a meeting comprising of the NWC, PDP Governors’ Forum, Leadership of PDP National Assembly Caucus and BoT Special Committee to resolve the issues.
They, however, urged Nigerians not to lose faith in the country due to the economic hardship they are facing, but continue to work with the PDP in the quest to rescue the nation from the stranglehold of APC.
