No fewer than five former students of the Command Secondary School Abakaliki Ebonyi state have died after the bus they were traveling crashed and caught fire.
NPO Reports learnt that members of the Alumni association of the school were traveling to honour a Commander of the school who was said to have spent 40 years in the college.
It was gathered that the bus had ran into a ditch at a construction site after which the fuel tank caught fire.
In the process it was leant that the driver of the bus managed to come out of the ill-fated bus but rather than open the bus of the bus mistakenly locked it.
The fire which had startled underneath the bus was said to have caught with some of the passengers while a few broke the glass of the bus to escape.
At the moment, it was learnt that five persons were burnt while some of those who escaped are now in the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital in Enugu after suffering first degree burns.
The incident which was said to have happened on Thursday has thrown members of the alumni association into mourning.
