Babajide Sanwo-Olu has, on Monday, hosted Lagos state one-day governor, Abdulazeez Abdulrahmon, at the Lagos House, Marina.
The state governor disclosed this in a post on his official X handle.
Sanwo-Olu expressed his delight as he welcomed Abdulrahmon, student of Oriwu Senior Model College, Ikorodu, who emerged overall winner of the 20th edition of the state’s annual Spelling Bee competition- a feat which also saw him become Lagos one-day governor.
Abdulrahmon was also accompanied to the state house by one-day Deputy Governor, Oki Sewanu- a student of Ansar-Ud-Deen Senior Grammar School in Badagry, and Saheed Alimot-Odere, the One Day Secretary to the State Government, a student at Jubilee Model Senior Grammar School, Coker Aguda.
While commending the students, Sanwo-Olu emphasized on the need to promote educational competition in nurturing the potential of students in the state.
“Today, I had the pleasure of receiving a student of Oriwu Senior Model College, Ikorodu, Abdulazeez Abdulrahmon, the One Day Governor and Overall Winner of the 20th Edition of the Spelling Bee Competition, at Lagos House, Marina.
“Abdulazeez was accompanied by Oki Sewanu, the One Day Deputy Governor, who is a student at Ansar-Ud-Deen Senior Grammar School in Badagry, and Saheed Alimot-Odere, the One Day Secretary to the State Government, a student at Jubilee Model Senior Grammar School, Coker Aguda.
“This experience not only showcased the talents of these outstanding students but also emphasized the importance of educational competitions in nurturing the potential of our young minds.
“These are the next generation of leaders, and I am confident that with continued support and encouragement, they will achieve great things and lead us toward a brighter future.” Sanwo-Olu wrote.
