Several United Kingdom-based Nigerian migrants have been left stranded at the Passport Intervention Centre in Manchester following absence of officials at the office.
The migrants had on Monday stormed the office on Monday for passport-related issues.
According to a UK-based political analyst and founder of Nigerians in UK of the, Oluomo of Derby, some of the migrants arrived at the venue as early as 9:00am but were left unattended to.
Most of them reportedly travelled from long distance to the passport office.
“It is now 11:30 a.m., and people who arrived as early as 9:00 a.m. are still waiting, with nothing happening.
“This is not the way to treat Nigerians who have taken time off work, travelled long distances, and paid for passport services.” Oluomo of Derby wrote in a post on his X handle.
He called for better organisation and clear communication that will respect people’s time and dignity.
“Please, we cannot continue doing things this way. We need proper planning, better organisation, clear communication, and an efficient system that respects people’s time and dignity.
“We must move away from the same old ways of doing things and organise these interventions properly. Nigerians in the UK deserve better.” He wrote.
The political analyst further shared a video of a Lebanese shop owner chasing away some of the Nigerian migrants who waited at his cafeteria.
