The Nigerian National Grid has again collapsed for the second time in one week as power distribution companies appeal to their customers.
Sequel to its collapse on Tuesday, the power grid suffered another set back today which was disclosed on X.
In reaction, several electricity distribution company took to their X handle to confirm the set back while appealing to their customers.
“Dear Esteemed Customer, Please be informed that we experienced a system outage today 07 November, 2024 at 11:29Hrs affecting supply within our network.
“Restoration of supply is ongoing in collaboration with our critical stakeholders.
Kindly bear with us.” Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company posted on the X handle.
Similarly, Jos Disco, in a statement issued by its spokesperson, Friday Adakole, attributed the outage to loss of power from the national grid while assuring its customers of quick restoration of power.
“Dear Esteemed Customer(s), The current outage being experienced within our franchise States is a result of loss of power supply from the national grid. The loss of power supply from the national grid occurred this morning at about 1128 hours of today, Thursday, 7th November 2024, hence the loss of power supply on all our feeders.
“We hope to restore normal power supply to our esteemed customers as soon as the grid supply is restored back to normalcy.
“Thank you for your patience and understanding as we strive to serve you better.” Adakole wrote.
On their parts, Eko Electric and Port Harcourt Disco suspected potential system failure or collapse while expressing regret on the inconveniences caused by the development.
“Dear Valued Customer, Kindly be informed that at precisely 11.29 hours of today 7th November 2024, we experience simultaneous loss of supply across our network.
“A potential system failure or collapse is suspected. We are currently working with our partners as we hope for speedy restoration of the grid. Do kindly bear with us. ” Eko Electric wrote.
“Dear Esteemed Customer, Kindly note that the outage currently experienced in PHED franchise areas is due to system collapse.
“We are working with TCN team to ensure full restoration as soon as possible. All inconveniences are deeply regretted.” Port Harcourt Disco also wrote.
