The National Chairman of the Labour Party, Barr Julius Abure, has been re-elected into his position. The election was held at the ongoing National Convention of the party holding in Nnewi, Anambra state.
The convention is holding amidst anxieties over the party’s cohesion. Abure and the presidential candidate of the party in the last election, Mr. Peter Obi, are believed to be locked in a battle for the soul of the party. The Chairman of the National Convention and Deputy Governor of Abia State, Mr. Ikechukwu Emetu declared him the winner during the party’s national convention
