Actress and movie producer, Funke Akindele, has called out Air Peace over alleged abandonment of passengers in London.
Akindele alleged that the airline left the Nigeria-bound passengers stranded at the London Gatwick Airport since 6:30am with no proper communication.
The actress, who was also stranded alongside the other passengers, made this known in a post shared on her X handle on Friday.
According to her, the airline only spoke to them after several hours of waiting.
They reportedly cited a bird strike incident as the cause of the delay while promising to lodge all the passengers in a hotel.
Akindele however disclosed that the promise is yet to be fulfilled as the passengers who are mostly elderly people are still left stranded and hungry at the airport with their luggage yet to be released.
“Passengers (including elderly people) have been stranded since 6:30AM at London Gatwick Airport with no proper communication.
“After hours of delay, we were told there was a bird strike and promised a hotel. Hours later, people are still sitting at baggage claim hungry, exhausted, and without their bags.
“Elderly passengers are struggling. Families are tired. No clear updates. No support.
“Release passengers’ luggage immediately and provide the hotel you promised. Do something NOW.” Akindele wrote.
The actress would further call for the swift resolution of the issue in a video attached to a separate post.
Akindele had in the video, which showed the stranded elderly passenger, accused one of the airline officials at the airport of rudely addressing her when she went to file a complaint.
