The Director of Social Media of the All Progressive Congress Campaign Council, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, on Friday rained curses on the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele. Fani-Kayode, a former Aviation Minister, was again ventilating his anger over the redesign of the Nigerian currency, the Naira and the attendant economic woes it has brought on Nigerians. According to Fani-Kayode, “History and posterity will punish Godwin Emefiele and those behind this orchestrated mess and conspiracy.”
He said “Those that sent them on this errand of destruction will also be judged.”
He also that “Their scorched earth policy to thwart the will of the people and derail the election WILL have consequences.”
His condemnation came amidst loud complaints by Nigerians how to get the new Naira notes. In. some instances, Point of Sale operators charge exorbitant services charges on transactions. The automated teller machines are also not dispensing with thousands besieging banks for withdrawals.
Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, had said that the Federal Government was concerned about the plight of the citizens on the currency swap, adding that the situation would not persist.
“Of course, we are worried; we are not that happy that citizens have to queue and struggle at bank ATM to be able to get their cash but this is a temporary solution.

“So, it is not easy and the president is not happy that the citizens are really suffering; but we are convinced that it is something that needs to be done this time,”she said
