Accoeding to the Director of Communications of FAAN, Obiageli Orah, the electrical team later identified the challenges with the automatic switch over which was later rectified after series of efforts.
Within the period, many disappointed airport users had taken to the social media to make video recordings of the situation while lamenting poor services at the nation’s airports.
“We experienced a 2-3 minute outage at Murtala Muhammed International Airport yesterday, Feb 2nd 2024 while switching over to our back up power supply after losing power from the Grid.” Orah said in a public statement
She also said that alternative plans are being put in place to ensure such situation does not arise again.
