Amidst the ongoing missing funds saga with Social Media Activist, Martins Otse, fondly known as VeryDarkMan, has revealed that N78million has been recovered out of N180 million.
He made the disclosure in a video released via his social media on Sunday.
“First of all I really want to thank all the people that have called to reach out to me since this thing happened.
“I want to thank God for the progress so far, we have been able to recover 78 million even though the person the suspect pointed that he did it with has ran to Ghana, so hopefully we will be going to Ghana very soon.”
NPO recalls that VDM had on Friday announced that N180 million which was mean for his NGO, had gone missing from the NGO’s website.
He also revealed that a total of 614 threats were recovered, from the US, 58 from Nigeria, 4 in Moldova and 3 in Singapore and Israel respectively.
According to the cyber attack report from the website, it was revealed that a total of 682 cyber attacks were identified since the launch of the site, with targets to its security and functionality.
It revealed that the most intense attack occurred on the 17th of December with 590 attempts originating from an IP address in the US.
The report highlighted some of the objectives of the attack to be disruption of service to undermine the website’s functionality.
Similarly, it noted the exploitation of vulnerabilities to access sensitive banking credentials to redirect funds.
“This wasn’t just a straight attack, I’ll say its an inside job because its somebody from within the team that pointed out these people but hopefully we’ll get too expose the people behind this.” VDM said.
