Amnesty International, has condemned the recent attack in Plateau in which over 18 people were attacked and 12 were killed.
Recall that the attacks which occurred on Thursday were carried out by suspected herdsmen in Mangu and Bokkos Local Government Area of the State.
Reacting to this development, Amnesty International wrote;
“Amnesty International strongly condemns the killing of over 18 people yesterday — in fresh attacks by gunmen on communities in #Mangu and #Bokkos local government areas of Plateau state
“Of the 18 persons, 12 were killed in Talengpat village of Pushit District, #Mangu LGA, while six were killed in Mandung, Butura, and Chikam, all communities in #Bokkos LGA.
“The attackers – who came on motorcycles – on Thursday 18 April 2024, despite the presence of security personnel in the area, attacked Mandung, Butura, Chikam and other Bokkos communities around the Plateau State University.”
