The Nigerian Police Force has on Friday conducted aerial surveillance across Anambra state ahead on the gubernatorial election.
This is coming as part of the security measures put in place by the Force ahead of the Saturday poll.
The surveillance, as captured in video shared on X showed the air wing of the Force hovering above the stretch of Anambra state.
Also captured in the aerial view was the popular Onitsha bridge which stretched across the Niger river.
NPO Reported that the Anambra Police Commissioner, Abayomi Shogunle, had in a joint meeting held with other security chiefs in the state reaffirmed readiness to maintain law and order, safeguard voters, election officials, materials, and critical national infrastructure across the state.
The security chiefs had also collectively call on the electorate to remain law-abiding, shun violence, and participate in the election without fear of intimidation.
Shogunle, in her s remark, reiterated the collective commitment of the security agencies towards ensuring a peaceful, credible, and violence-free election.
The Police Commissioner emphasized the need for coordination and synergy, real-time intelligence sharing, joint patrols, and professional conduct of personnel before, during, and after the election.
