The loss of the Saturday’s governorship election by incumbent Governor Gboyega Oyetola has ignited a massive wave of voice notes on social media with many complaining over the reason for the loss by the All Progressive Congress.
The post-election days have witnessed blame games among party loyalists who are still shocked by the defeat of the incumbent by opposition Peoples Democratic Party.
The Independent National Electoral Commission had declared Ademola Adeleke winner of the election after a second trial having been the candidate of the party way back in 2018.
Leading Oyetola with a wide margin of 28,344 votes having scored 403,371 votes to Oyetola’s 375,027, APC members across the state had been left wondering what befell the party.
NPO Reports finds that two days after the declaration of the results of the election, it has been blame game galore among APC stalwarts with many of them going to the social media to vent their anger.
VOICE NOTES
Particularly, the Whatsapp platform with its membership cutting across groups, has turned to be an avenue for residents to discuss and exchange opinions over election.
Particularly being used is the voice note where angry party members have voiced out their opinions on how the party lost the election and the roles played by some leaders of the party.
One of such voice notes listened to by the NPO Reports correspondent had the party loyalists cursing some of the leaders such as members of the executive council of the Governor, members of the National Assembly from the State and other influential political appointees.
In some of the voice notes, it could be heard how angry members recalled how the division within the party led to the defeat of the party.
In particular, many have complained about how they were ignored when they suggested that nothing should be left undone to bring back the former Governor, Rauf Aregbesola to lead the party to victory.
