Another prominent governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressive Congress on Saturday withdrew from the race.
Lucky Imasuen, a former deputy governor in the state announced his exit from the race just as aspirants were to file out on Saturday to vie for votes to emerge as the flag bearer of the party in the forthcoming election.
“I have come to the conclusion that since members of our National Working Committee (NWC), in their wisdom, have expressed their preference for zoning the governorship position to Edo Central Senatorial District, it is wise to align with the decision of the party,” his letter of notice of withdrawal read.
“I am immensely grateful for your unwavering support and belief in me, throughout this journey. Your dedication and passion have been the driving force behind my campaign.
Imasuen’s withdrawal came less than 24 hours after a similar action by another aspirant, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu
