- No Consensus as 23 APC President Aspirants Get Set for Voting
- Twenty-Three presidential aspirants of the All Progressive Congress are to file out this evening as the party seems to have thrown consensus arrangement into the dustbin.
Already, the 23 aspirants have been called to tell delegates their programmes for the country should they be elected as the flag bearer of the APC.
From across the country, 2,322 delegates have been drawn to the Eagle Square to vote this evening.
Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Governor of Kebbi State, Abubakar Bagudu, said voting would take place.
Before voting, each of the 23 aspirants are expected to address the delegates.
Details later… - The special convention of the All Progressive Congress has got underway in Abuja with the arrival of President Muhammadu Buhari.
National Chairman of the party, Senator Adamu Abdulahi, while addressing the delegates, said the APC must show leadership and assure Nigerians that it is capable of leading them to prosperity.
The APC National Chairman said as the party was about to elect its flag bearer, delegates must be conscious of the enormous responsibility on them to shun what he called primordial sentiments to ensure the emergence of a candidate who can not only win election, but with a proven capacity to unify the country and lead it to economic prosperity.
The National Secretary of the party, Iyiola Omisore, was later called to given an account of the party.
