More details are emerging from the late night attacks on passengers traveling from Kaduna to Abuja on Monday.
NPO Reports learnt that no fewer than seven persons may have been shot dead as the attackers rained bullets on the train after the track had been bombed.
Villagers had claimed that the gunshots were so intense that the expected many fatalities.
One of the victims include a member of the All Progressive Congress Amin Mahmood who was returning to Kaduna after the National convention of the party which held on Saturday.
Mahmood was said to have contested for the position of the North West Youth Leader.
Details about other fatalities were still sketchy as at the time of filing this report.
The Nigerian Railway Corporation has also suspended operations on the corridor.
