The 2023 Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and former Nigerian Vice President, Namadi Sambo, have paid courtesy visit to former Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola.
NPO Reported that the duo had arrived in Osun ahead of the coronation ceremony of new Owa Obokun of Ijesa land, Adesuyi Haastrup.
Atiku, in a post on his X handle on Friday, disclosed visiting Aregbesola at his residence alongside Sambo for breakfast.
As captured in a video attached to the post, Aregbesola and members of the Omoluabi Progressives received Atiku and Sambo.
Atiku exchanged pleasantries with Aregbesola’s entourage as drummers eulogized the former Vice President before he was ushered into the house.
“Breakfast time at the residence of former Governor of Osun State, Engr Rauf Aregbesola.” Atiku wrote in the post.
Beyond breakfast, the visit to Aregbesola, a former All Progressive Congress (APC) Chieftain, signalled another move by the Atiku to promote his coalition party agenda ahead of the 2027 Presidential election.
