The Nigeria Police Force has recorded arrests of 1246 suspects and recovered 3172 ammunitions since the 1st of October. This was contained in a statement by the police force public relations officer, Olumiyiwa Adejobi on Wednesday. These include the arrest of 371 armed robbery suspects, 186 kidnapping suspects, 242 Murder/homicide suspects, 63 suspects connected with the unlawful possession of prohibited firearms, 217 rape suspects, 167 suspected cultists and recovery of 210 various firearms, 3172 ammunition of various calibres. The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has mourned the death of the Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Scholarship Board, Mr Abdulrahman Lekki, describing his demise as a rude shock and a big loss to the State. Operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), have arrested 25 suspected internet fraudsters in Benin City. This was contained in an X post via the anti graft agency’s handle. The suspect’s were arrested on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at different locations in the city. According to the post, they were arrested based on credible intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet related fraud.
