Agency Report A Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court on Tuesday granted the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) leave to play compact disc as evidence in the trial of a former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Godwin Emefiele. Kano State Government said it has uncovered irregularities on its payroll involving 240 employees receiving double payments and 217 others having the same Bank Verification Number (BVN). Dr. Sulaiman Sani, Special Adviser to the Governor on Civil Service Matters and Chairman of the State Coordinating Committee, disclosed this at a press briefing in Kano on Sunday. The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has confirmed that a cyclist died after colliding with a moving truck on Sunday. LASTMA’s General Manager, Mr Olalekan Bakare-Oki, made the announcement in a statement in Lagos. The Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO), has sealed off Viva Bella Court II, Lekki Peninsula, Eti-Osa, Lagos, over deliberate wastewater pollution. The Commissioner of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed this in an X post on Sunday. He noted that the wastewater was deliberately discharged into the drains via laid pipe and having an overfilled septic tank spilling to the environment. The Apetu of Ipetumodu in Sun State, Oba Joseph Oloyede, and a Nigerian pastor, Edward Oluwasanmi, have pleaded guilty to orchestrating a $4.2m COVID-19 relief fraud in the United States.
