The Supreme Court, on Tuesday, has reserved judgment in the suit filed by 19 states challenging the constitutionality of the laws establishing the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The Commissioner for Health, Dr Moses Ekuma, has disclosed that the state has recorded 28 deaths and 386 cases since the cholera outbreak on September 24. Ekuma made this known to newsmen on Saturday during the donation of medical commodities by the Governor’s wife, Mrs Mary-Maudline Nwifuru, to the General Hospital in Iboko, Izzi Local Government Area. Ekuma said most deaths occurred at home before the emergency response team and the ministry were informed. Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has approved the payment of N70,000 as the minimum wage to enhance workers’ welfare in the state. The Ebonyi Police Command has confirmed that 10 persons were injured in Thursday’s gas explosion that occurred in Orokeonuoha Community of Ebonyi Local Government Area of the state.
