The Police Command in Osun have detained a suspected cultist who allegedly shot a convenience store owner in Ede. The command’s spokesperson, SP Adeoye Adeola confirmed the arrest and detention of the suspect in a statement on Thursday in Osogbo. The Managing Director of NELFUND, Mr Akintunde Sawyerr stated this at a sensitisation programme for Edo students in Edo State University, Iyamoh, Edo, on Thursday. A 32-year-old Pastor, Emmanuel Anthony, was on Thursday docked in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a woman’s laptops valued, N2.2million. Anthony who resides at Iwoye, Oju Ore, Otta, in Ogun is standing trial for unlawful invasion and stealing. He however, pleaded not guilty to the charges. Following its recent increase in DStv and GOtv subscription rates, the Federal High Court in Abuja, has on Wednesday, restrained the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) from sanctioning MultiChoice Nigeria Limited. Justice James Omotosho gave the order after an ex-parte motion moved by Moyosore Onigbanjo, SAN, counsel to MultiChoice.
