The Defence Headquarters said that the military had eliminated a total of 8,034 terrorists, apprehended 11,623 suspects and rescued 6,376 kidnapped hostages from January to December. Agency Report The ECOWAS Court has ordered Nigeria to pay five million naira as compensation to citizen, Oluwatimilehin Adebayo, for the violation of his right to freedom from torture. The court also ordered Nigeria to conduct a “prompt, impartial, and effective” investigation into Adebayo’s alleged torture by the police, as well as prosecute the culprits.
