Israel and Hamas have agreed a Gaza ceasefire and hostage release deal following 15 months of war, mediators Qatar and the US say. The Managing Director, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs Olubunmi Kuku, has said that N580 billion is needed for the rehabilitation of runways across the country as some have outlived their life span. The Police Command in Katsina, have confirmed that the medical doctor, Dr Murtala Sale-Dandashire, who was shot at Kankara General Hospital “is alive.” The Command’s Public Relations Officer PPRO, DSP Abubakar Aliyu, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Katsina. The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has directed telecommunications companies to disconnect the Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) codes assigned to nine financial institutions due to unpaid debts. This was made known in a public notice signed by NCC’s Director of Public Affairs, Mr Reuben Muoka, on Wednesday. According to the commission, the affected banks must settle their outstanding debts by Jan. 27, 2025 or risk losing access to their USSD codes.
