The Commissioner for Health, Dr Moses Ekuma, has disclosed that the state has recorded 28 deaths and 386 cases since the cholera outbreak on September 24. Ekuma made this known to newsmen on Saturday during the donation of medical commodities by the Governor’s wife, Mrs Mary-Maudline Nwifuru, to the General Hospital in Iboko, Izzi Local Government Area. Ekuma said most deaths occurred at home before the emergency response team and the ministry were informed. Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has addressed speculations about his 2027 presidential ambition, stating that he’s old enough to declare his intentions when the time comes. Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has approved the payment of N70,000 as the minimum wage to enhance workers’ welfare in the state. This was disclosed by the state’s Commissioner for Finance, Dr Hauwa Nuru, in a statement on Saturday in Ilorin. The Ebonyi Police Command has confirmed that 10 persons were injured in Thursday’s gas explosion that occurred in Orokeonuoha Community of Ebonyi Local Government Area of the state. The Police Command in Lagos State has confirmed that a man allegedly jumped into a canal and died to avoid arrest in the Ipaja area of the state.
