No fewer than 40 people have been trapped under the rubble after a building collapsed in Sabon Lugbe area of the Federal capital city, Abuja. According to information gathered by NPO Reports, the incident occurred on Saturday around 5pm. The building was reportedly under construction. In a viral video on X, residents were seen making efforts to rescue those trapped beneath the debris.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNCP) has clarified that the search for more bodies is still ongoing and no additional bodies have been found. A section of the Lagos Blue Line track has been gutted by fire. According to information gathered by NPO Reports, the incident occurred around 4:12pm on Saturday. It was disclosed that it broke out at a spot opposite the NEPA Station, near the Eko Bridge, in the Apogbon area of Lagos State. No fewer than five former students of the Command Secondary School Abakaliki Ebonyi state have died after the bus they were traveling crashed and caught fire. Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), have nabbed a man impersonating as its official for extorting motorists in Oshodi area of Lagos. This was contained in a statement by the Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment, LASTMA, Adebayo Taofiq, on Friday. Rep. Afam Ogene, the Labour Party Caucus Leader, House of Representatives, has faulted the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) over its indecisiveness in the validity of the old and new Naira notes.
