President Bola Tinubu has expressed sorrow over the death of Uthman Argungu, retired Supreme Court Justice, describing his passing as a personal and national loss. Argungu, who died at the age of 90, was a respected jurist and a cherished associate of the President, Mr Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, said in a statement. Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, (NDLEA), have intercepted what it described as the single largest interception of cocaine at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport. Old students of Islamic High School, Basorun, Ibadan, the venue of the Ibadan funfair tragedy, have demanded the release of the school principal, Mr Abdullah Fasasi, on administrative bail. The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has vowed to sanction any staff that is caught charging applicants for National Identification Number (NIN) enrollment. The commission’s Head of Corporate Communications, Kayode Adegoke, gave the warning in a statement on Friday. The Management of the University of Ilorin has announced an attraction of N3000 fine per week on unclaimed certificates by graduates from January 17. The institution’s registrar, Mr. Monsur Adeleke Alfanla, disclosed this in a statement dated 18th of December, 2024.
