Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), in Lagos, have arrested two Chinese nationals and six Nigerians for alleged involvement in illegal mining activities in the Ogere area of Ogun. The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) says a total of 1,622 Nigerian pilgrims have been transported to Madinah for the 2025 Hajj operation. The Lagos State Government on Saturday began demolition of illegal structures, including makeshift shanties, in the Ikeja Government Reserved Area (GRA). The Permanent Secretary of Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), Mr. Gbolahan Oki, led the team that demolished the structures. An early hour fire incident on Saturday razed six shops at the Police Barracks, Omolewa in Yemetu area of Ibadan.
