Some protesters insisting that election cannot hold into the local government areas of Rivers state have gone to the streets of the state capital Port Harcourt. This was just as voters have come out in their large numbers forming long lines at polling centers. Some of the protesters apparently loyalist of former Governor Nyesom Wike carried with them many placards with various inscriptions condemning the conduct of the election. Safiu Kehinde Against the Federal High Court ruling, voters in Rivers state turned out en masse to exercise their franchise at the ongoing local government elections in the state. The court ruling which called for the suspension of the election and withdrawal of the Nigerian Police Force had stirred tension in Rivers.
