Safiu Kehinde  A 71-year-old man, Sule Adeola, has been sentence to life imprisonment by an Ekiti State High Court in Ado-Ekiti for raping best friend’s granddaughter. The convict was arraigned before Justice Blessing Ajileye on June 22, 2023, on a charge of raping the minor. In a judgment, Ajileye said, “it was unfortunate and saddening that recorded cases of intimate person’s sexual assault, hits new high every day. ” From the totality of evidence on record, I am more persuaded by the prosecution’s evidence that there was proof of penetration, there is no scintilla of evidence available in the contrary.…

Agency Report  The Defence Headquarters (DHQ), has said that ex-Seaman Abbas Haruna of the Nigerian Navy was fairly tried and dismissed by a military court-martial in accordance with the provisions of the Armed Forces Act. Safiu Kehinde  The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has nabbed 33 suspected internet fraudsters in Rivers state. This was disclosed in a statement issued on the anti-graft agency’s official X handle on Wednesday. According to the statement, the suspects were arrested in their hideouts around  Iwofe and Ogboro axes of Port Harcourt based on credible intelligence. Safiu Kehinde A group of Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) leaders and supporters has, on Wednesday, protested at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Benin to register their displeasure over the outcome of the just concluded Edo governorship election. Agency Report The Police Command in Rivers has refuted claims that its officers sealed off the office of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC). There were earlier reports that the RSIEC secretariat in Port Harcourt was sealed following a Federal High Court order halting the local government council elections scheduled for Oct. 5. However, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the command’s spokesperson, told journalists in Port Harcourt that the reports were false. Safiu Kehinde Popular Nigerian music artist, David Adeleke (Davido) has officially announced the release of his latest music video, Joy, in collaboration with five times Grammy awards winner, Angelique Kidjo. Davido made the announcement in a post on his Instagram handle on Tuesday. He uploaded a snippet of the much-awaited music video featuring Kidjo. Recall that Beninoise singer had last week disclosed the released date of the video which was slated for today. Meanwhile, Joy will be the second music collaboration between both artists after “Na Money” which was released last year.
