Safiu Kehinde The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has reaffirmed the suspension of the five officials in charge of crossdresser, Idris Okuneye’s (popularly known as Bobrisky) case. This was contained in a statement issued yesterday by the agency’s spokesperson, Umar Abubakar. Reacting to claims by one of the suspended officers stating that he was not served a suspension letter, NCoS frowned against the claim. They, however, maintained that the officers were suspended pending the conclusion of the investigation over their alleged involvement in the bribery scandal. Safiu Kehinde Ondo state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has freed 19 inmates while granting 98 others sentence reduction across the state. This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor, Ebenezer Adeniyan. As contained in the statement made available to NPO Reports, the initiative was recommended by the Advisory Council on the Prerogative of Mercy. While 19 inmates were granted outright release from, others were given sentence reduction. Meanwhile some inmates on death row had their sentence converted to life imprisonment.
