By Kamil Opeyemi Some members of staff of the Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) on Tuesday, besieged the offices of the commission in Jabi and Utako, Abuja, in protest of alleged poor welfare. The protesting workers gave the management 24-hour ultimatum to address their grievances or face industrial unrest. By Kamil Opeyemi The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has asked the supreme court to nullify the ruling of the appeal court which discharged Sule Lamido, former governor of Jigawa, of the money laundering charges against him. In a statement on Tuesday, Wilson Uwujaren, EFCC spokesperson said the appeal court should have transferred the case rather than discharging Lamido of the crime. Lamido, his two sons, Aminu and Mustapha, were standing trial on a 37-count amended charge of money laundering filed against them in 2015. Fintiri had imposed the curfew on the affected areas in the wake of Sunday’s looting of government’s warehouses by unidentified hoodlums. There is tension in the Ikeja area of Lagos on Tuesday as a yet to be identified helicopter crashed . NPO Reports learnt tha crash occurred at the Oba Akran area of the metropolis. It was learnt that immediately the helicopter came down, it went on flames. NPO Reports gathered that the pilot was removed from the debris as no casualties were recorded. France is preparing to evacuate its citizens from the West African nation of Niger because of anti-French sentiment following last week’s coup.
