Kenya has closed schools in the country’s two main cities as a three-day opposition protest kicked off with demonstrators confronting police. Tear gas has been fired in the capital, Nairobi, and the coastal city of Mombasa at those protesting over the high cost of living. Several people were injured after being shot as police battled protesters. Many businesses have remained shut over fears of looting, with people scared of getting caught in violent clashes. Russia’s president will not attend a summit in South Africa next month, according to the country’s presidency. The announcement comes after South Africa’s leader said any attempt to arrest Vladimir Putin would be a declaration of war against Russia. If Mr Putin had left Russian soil, he would have been subject to an International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant. South Africa is an ICC signatory and expected to help in Mr Putin’s arrest. A Federal High Court, Abuja, on Wednesday, said it would issue a warrant of arrest against Emefiele over his failure to appear before it to explain circumstances surrounding the 53 million dollar-judgment debt arising from the Paris Club refund. The National Immunisation Coverage Survey Results show that Nigeria has made progress in routine immunisation coverage over the years. Describing the new price as “provocative” and “extortionate,” the party said a litre of fuel should not sell more than N150 per litre in the country. Three inmates of Kuje Correctional Service have graduated from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) with degrees and diplomas in various disciplines. The inmates were presented with their certificates at a special convocation ceremony organised by the NOUN at the Kuje Custodial Centre in the FCT.
