The family of Paul Rusesabagina, the subject of Oscar-nominated film Hotel Rwanda, have filed a $400m (£307m) lawsuit in the United States over his alleged abduction and torture. He was sentenced to 25 years for terrorism by a Rwandan court last year in what supporters called a sham trial. A group of about 20 civilians has left the Azovstal steelworks in Mariupol, the final part of the southern city still in the hands of Ukrainian troops. The Police in Borno has imposed a six-hour restriction on vehicular movement in Maiduguri metropolis, as part of measures to ensure security during the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
