A statement by the Secretary to the Board, Mr Ja’afaru Ahmed, on Sunday in Abuja, said the board approved 8,365 officers of NCOS; 3,472 officers of NIS; 327 officers of FSS; and 5,167 officers of NSCDC. By Kamil Opeyemi President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of outgoing Member of the House of Representatives for Kano Municipal, Sha’aban Sharada as Executive Secretary of the newly established National Commission for Almajiri. Malam Garba Shehu, the President’s spokesman confirmed this on Sunday night in Abuja. According to Shehu, Sharada’s appointment followed the president’s assent to the National Commission for Almajiri and Out of School Children Education Bill 2023. Sharada has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication from Bayero University, Kano and a Master of Business Administration from University of Chichester, United Kingdom.
Paris St-Germain goalkeeper Sergio Rico is in a “serious” condition in intensive care after a horse riding accident, his club says. Rico, 29, was riding in the El Rocio region of Huelva in Spain when he was in a collision with a runaway horse and fell, local media reported. Nigeria’s advocacy group, the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) on Sunday, asked the incoming President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to make an open declaration of his assets. The group said this action would help Tinubu to make a clean start. SERAP, in a letter addressed to Tinubu and signed by its Deputy Director, Kolawole Oluwadare, said the declaration should include details of his assets, income, investments, liabilities, and interests.
