Mr. Olatunji Ambali, the National President, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), has called on Nigerians not to vote for those state governors opposing local government autonomy. Nigerians have expressed anger over the removal of the Chief Imam of Apo Legislative Quarters, Imam Nuhu Khalid, popularly called “Digital Imam.” The cleric was suspended on the orders of the mosque’s steering committee, under the chairmanship of Senator Saidu Dansadau after his sermon where he condemned the government’s failure to protect the lives of Nigerians. Amidst the leadership crisis that has engulfed the Benue indigenes community in Osun, the Governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola has set up a committee to resolve the problems. Oyetola, while inaugurating the committee on Sunday in Osogbo, during a meeting with the leaders of Benue indigenes resident in Osun directed the warring factions to withdraw all cases pending in court for peace to reign. The Nigerian Railway Corporation has reiterated its commitment to collaborate with security agencies to rescue other missing passengers aboard the recently attacked AK9 Abuja-Kaduna bound train. General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Sunday took on the ruling All Progressive Congress on a series of issues, giving a verdict that is less attractive. Adeboye, at the church’s monthly thanksgiving service, spoke on the 2023 general elections, the dwindling economic fortunes of the country and the increases cases of oil theft. Nigerians in their droves, have been reacting to the promise made on Saturday by Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State during his speech at the declaration for the 2023 presidential race. Ukraine has said that its forces have retaken the entire region around the capital Kyiv, with Russian forces withdrawing from key towns. Hostomel airport near Kyiv, which has seen fighting since the first day of the conflict, is now back in Ukrainian hands. As Russian troops retreat, the evidence of civilian killings – a war crime – is growing. Reporters in the town of Bucha, which is just outside Kyiv, have found at least 20 bodies left in the streets. The drone footage shows three cars speeding along an empty main road just outside the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, when they suddenly turn around and race back – all except one. This white car turns, but then stops. A man steps out and raises his hands. Then his body falls to the ground. Moments later, Russian soldiers approach.
