The banquet Hall of the Government House has been decorated in anticipation of the arrival of the deposed Emir who was reinstated on Thursday. The Kano state House of Assembly had repealed a law which created six Emirates under the administration of former Governor Umar Ganduje. Thursday’s repeal of the law paved the way for the reappointment of Sanusi, a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Agency Report The World Health Organisation (WHO) and STOP, a global tobacco industry watchdog, have launched “Hooking the next generation,” a report highlighting how the tobacco and nicotine industry designs products. WHO said this in a statement made available on Thursday. Singer Sean Kingston has been arrested in California, hours after a police raid of his Florida mansion, during which his mother was also arrested. Mr Kingston was accused in February by a company of not fully paying for a huge TV and sound system. A restaurant collapsed on the Spanish island of Majorca, killing four people and injuring 16, local emergency services say. Several people are believed to be trapped under rubble at the site of the Medusa Beach Club, a beachside restaurant in one of the busiest areas of the regional capital, Palma de Majorca.
