Agency Report Banks have commenced implementation of the new Automated Teller Machine (ATM) transaction fee charge on customers following the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN’s) directive. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) correspondent who monitored some banks’ ATM gallery in Abuja and environs on Sunday, reports that some customers were lamenting about the increase. NAN reports that all the banks’ ATM visited had monies loaded in them. By Halimah Olamide Nigerian advocacy group, the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) on Sunday called for a suspension of the implementation of increase in Automated Teller Machine (ATM) transaction fees to be paid by bank customers. SERAP said this is pending the hearing and determination of the lawsuit before the Federal High Court, Lagos challenging the legality of the increase. Agency Report The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, (NDLEA), says it has intercepted 128 parcels of Canadian Loud, a strong strain of cannabis at the Tin-can Seaport in Lagos. NDLEA Spokesman Femi Babafemi said, in a statement on Sunday in Abuja, that the drugs weighed 63.75 kilograms. Babafemi said that the NDLEA operatives on Friday, Feb. 28 discovered the drugs concealed in two mattresses in the trunk of a Toyota Venza car imported from Canada.
