Justice Udofot Akpan of the Federal High Court in Ibadan on Monday division sentenced the 42-year-old transporter, to five years imprisonment for unlawful possession of 2.12kg of hemp. Justice Akpan convicted Mustapha after he pleaded guilty to unlawful dealing in illicit substance. The judge also held that the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) had proven its case beyond reasonable doubt as required by law. This was disclosed by Governor Ahmed Ododo while expressing appreciation for the eagle eyed surveillance of the state by security forces. The Prosecutor, Insp Olalekan Adegbite told the court that Abah, aged 20, whose address was not given, committed the offence between November 2023 and February 2024. Obiano is challenging the jurisdiction of the court to hear the alleged N4 billion fraud charge filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC). The government of Haiti declared a 72-hour state of emergency on Sunday after armed gangs stormed a major Port-au-Prince prison. At least 12 people were killed and about 3,700 inmates escaped in the jailbreak. Gang leaders say they want to force the resignation of Prime Minister Ariel Henry, who had travelled abroad.
