Agency Report The Court of Appeal, Abuja has ordered the First City Monument Bank (FCMB) to pay the sum of N540 million damages awarded against it for alleged defamation of Prophet Emmanuel Omale and his wife, Deborah. NDLEA has intercepted 14.5 tons of “Ghanaian Loud’’, a strong strain of Indian hemp smuggled into Lagos from Ghana. Its spokesman, Mr Femi Babafemi, stated on Sunday in Abuja that the drugs were loaded in two trucks and in a J5 bus. He stated that the three vehicles were trailed and intercepted at Ojuelegba area of Lagos in the early hours of Sunday, Jan. 28. The apex court dismissed the appeal filed by the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Aisha Dahiru Binani. Experts appointed by the UN Human Rights Council unequivocally condemned the recent execution of an American inmate by nitrogen gas inhalation- the first ever that the method has been used. Kenneth Eugene Smith, 58, was executed in the southern state of Alabama on January 25.
