NPOReports gathered that the cause of the fire was electrical from one of the Chambers of the Justices and was put out with the use of fire extinguishers. It was also learnt that the cleaners on duty and some of the workers who resumed early for work detected the fire and raised the alarm. The Benue State Government has confirmed the abduction of Mr Matthew Aboh, Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, on Sunday evening. Residents of Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State, on Sunday commended the police, army and members of a vigilance group for repelling Saturday’s kidnap attempt at Tijjani Malumfashi Housing Estate. About 50 suspected kidnappers attacked residents of the housing estate and attempted to kidnap a number of its residents on Saturday. A resident said the assailants stormed the estate at about 11 p.m. and immediately began to shoot into the air. FCT Minister, Mr Nyesom Wike, has approved a three-month grace period for owners of 189 undeveloped plots of land in the territory to begin to develop them or get their allocation papers revoked. Director of Information and Communication at the FCT Administration, Mr Muhammad Sule, stated on Sunday in Abuja that the affected titled holders had obtained building plan approvals, but were yet to develop the properties.
