In a rare manifestation of goodluck and perhaps answered prayers, an unidentified passenger on the ill-fated Azerbaijan Airlines flight J2-8243 is among the 28 that survived the crash. Communities in Sokoto State have differed over the bombing of communities which have claimed many lives in the state. There were reports of jet bombings in the Gidan Sama and Rumtuwa communities of Silame Local Government Area of the state leading to death of about 10 villagers with dozens also injured. Also killed and injured were residents’ livestocks while many houses were either burnt or destroyed. There is tension in the Olodo area of Ibadan-Iwo Road in Oyo state Monday evening as a petrol tanker has exploded. NPO Reports gathered that the cause of the explosion was not known at press time. Tongues of flames could be seen by residents with thick smoke going into the sky while residents ran for their lives as seen in a video shared by Oyo Affairs, an online medium. Friends and associates have woken up on Friday to the news of the death of a Nigerian journalist who is more known and respected for her courage in handling her altruistic son, Ahmed, Mrs. Rafat Idris Salami. A plane of the United Nigeria Airlines was on Thursday grounded by the authorities for hours after a fight ensued between a passenger and a crew member. Only one bank robbery has succeeded in Lagos state since 2007.
