It was leant that the site collapsed at a time many were there causing panic of possible fatalities. However, officials of the Ministry of Solid Minerals were said to have been deployed in the site to commence rescue operations. The TUC president Festus Osifo disclosed this on Tuesday in Abuja after a joint extraordinary national executive council meeting of the unions. NPO Reports that the union declared an indefinite strike following the negotiations on a new minimum wage and the hike in electricity tariff.
