The three-member tribunal, chaired by Justice Oluyemi Akintan-Osadebay, affirmed the election in a unanimous judgment. The tribunal dismissed the petition of the Labour Party (LP) and its governorship candidate, Mr Athan Achonu. Although no official statement has been issued by the university, it was learnt that Banjo died in the early hours of Friday. His death came about 22 days after he clocked 90 years.
