Bamise: Soldiers, Policemen Take Over Lagos Protest Centre Over Planned Rally Over Killing
Security agencies in Lagos State have deployed some detachments of their operatives in the Ojota area of Lagos to forestall a possible protest by angry residents to converge over the death of a Lagos fashion designer, Oluwabamise Ayanwola.
22 year old Ayanwola had boarded a BRT bus at Chevron Bus Stop heading to Oshodi in Lagos before she was allegedly killed. She had made a video where she expressed fears that her life was in danger.
The discovery of her lifeless body on a Lagos bridge on Monday has sparked outrage.
The taking over of the Ojota area of Lagos was said to be informed by intelligence that some human rights activists are poised to hold a rally to press for justice on behalf of the family.
As early as 8am Tuesday, policemen and Army operatives had arrived at the Gani Fawehinmi Park suspected to be the venue of the proposed rally.
