There was a bomb scare in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja on Wednesday as disturbing sounds of explosions rocked the Maitama area of the metropolis.
The sound had gone so loud that many ran for safety while motorists halted temporarily to get a full understanding of what was happening.
However, NPO Reports gathered that the sound of the explosion was heard from a dumpsite not far from Maitama from where some explosions occurred.
It was learnt that the sound heard might not be unconnected with empty disused gas cylinders which exploded at the dumpsite while scavengers were burning wast items at the site.
No official statement had come from any of the security agencies at the time of filing this report.
The panic came amidst fears created by the explosion in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital which killed about 6 people and injured over 70 victims.
