Finally, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo Monday morning, declared his intention to run for the presidency come 2023.
His declaration came after almost one year of speculations.
In a broadcast that started at exactly 7am Monday, Osinbajo promised to continue with reforms in all sectors while seeking the support of Nigerians to achieve a greater Nigeria.
“We will build on the foundation laid by our predecessor,” Osinbajo.
He said Nigeria has the resources to be the foremost Black nation in the world.
Opening his declaration video, he said, “Dear Nigerians, for the past seven years, I have served as Vice President under a true Nigerian patriot, a servant of the nation in war and peace and a man of integrity, President Muhammadu Buhari.”
He said he and his boss have in seven years worked together to provide leadership saying ”
“We have, together, worked through the most difficult time in the history of our nation. But we have remained focused on security the country and providing infrastructure and growing our economy.”
